Dear Parents/ Carers
It’s been an absolute delight to welcome a number of pupils who we’ve not seen for such a long time. They settled in very quickly to the new way of working and have behaved wonderfully. I am so proud of you all.
The children seemed to have so much fun and it’s been brilliant to be able to video link into each classroom in the mornings to say a big hello. Even Mrs Wood’s paid a virtual visit to all the classrooms. It brought tears of happiness to us all.
Mr Stevens and the cleaners have been amazing – I truly believe we have the cleanest school in the country!!
Our systems for keeping our children safe are working well. We have pupils asking to stay for more days which is wonderful. Although there has been a further relaxation of social distancing measures we are not changing our protocols and will maintain the 2m rule where possible until we receive full guidance from the Department for Education.
We are starting our Foundation pupils next week which really pleases us. It’s so important for their development and we look forward to welcoming our first group of Foundation back.
We still have a few spaces left across the school groups - so please contact the school if you would like your child to start coming back to school.
Groups currently available; there are a couple spaces free in most of the group
· Key worker Groups – 2 groups
· Nurture Group – 1 group
· Year 6 – 1 group
· Year 1 – 1 group
· Foundation – 1 group
We are currently exploring ways to meet new classes – possibly online in preparation for the new school year. Again at present the Department for Education has offered very little information for schools to work with so planning for September is extremely difficult. We are working closely with the Local Authority to get the school ready. We all want the same thing – a safe school open to everyone.
We all look forward to the day when we can safely welcome everyone back and life hopefully returns to normal.
Regards Steve Bower
