23rd September letter
23 September 2020 (by admin)
Dear Parents and carers,
I would like to take the opportunity to thank every one of you for the support and co-operation you have shown Toll Bar Primary School. You have helped make sure that the children are calm and settled before entering school. They have been amazing!!
I am sure you will be aware across the country and in Government of the increasing concern of the COVID-19 taking hold again. The government made a number of announcements which could be in place for up to 6 months. Like you, we are all concerned and want to make sure we have taken all the appropriate measures to keep pupils, staff and parents as safe as possible.
Over the last 4 weeks the school has got used to how to enter and exit safely, however this only works if we are all on time using the correct entrances and exits. Please do your absolute best to be on time at the correct entrance and leave using the one-way system. It has been working extremely well. Thank you.
Could I also remind you of the need to maintain social distancing both in school and where possible outside of school. Public Health Doncaster have said the vast number of infections have come from meeting across other households and socializing – not from schools. Throughout the day the school ensures pupils are taught, have playtime and eat within just their bubbles. This at present is working really well.
Be on time to school
Maintain Social Distancing around school grounds
Use the correct entrance and exits
Only bring – your blue bag/ packed lunch/ water bottle/ healthy snack
Pupils to come to school on PE days in their kit
Due to the increased controls from Government, I feel it is only sensible we do not increase the school day and therefore we will unfortunately not be offering after school clubs or Breakfast club until the infection levels have significantly reduced.
I am also asking all staff to leave school at the end of the day as early as possible to reduce chances of infection and allow even more time for cleaning. Therefore, the school phone will only be answered between the hours of 8am and 4pm – please text or email if you wish to discuss something with a member of staff. We will answer your concerns as quickly as possible. We will update the website regularly and text out updates and reminders.
It is so important that we keep working together and if there are any questions, there is always a member of staff available at the start and end of the day on all of the playgrounds.
